1. What is a diplomate?

The term "diplomate" literally means "one who has received a diploma." The designation, however, is recognized in a number of professions, and signifies someone who a high level of competence.

2. Why should I earn the Diplomate designation?

There are a number of reasons for you earning diplomate status. The designation serves as symbol of professional accomplishment, and distinguishes you as a leader in your field. The mark is a sign of achievement which enhances your professional status. In addition, some choose to study and earn the designation simply for personal growth.

3. Is the Diplomate an academic degree?

No, the designation is not an academic degree, but instead represents mastery
and experience in the profession.

4. If I fail the examination, how many times may I retake the exam?

There is no limit on the number of times you may take the examination.
If you fail, it is suggested, however, that you purchase the study material
before attempting the examination again.

5. Can the diplomate designations be earned without taking the exams?

The normal process of earning these professional designations is through examination; however, in exceptional cases the Executive Board of the Institute may review a professional portfolio submission in lieu of the examination.

6. How difficult are the examinations?

The examinations are designed to test professional competency, therefore, they are considered somewhat difficult. However, with proper education, experience, and study you should be able to easily pass the examinations.

7. What is the difference between the DBA and DM designations?

The DBA is used to recognize a more broadly-based level of competency, whereas the DM represents more specialized proficiency.

8. Can I earn both designations and is there a discount for the second one?

Yes, you may if qualified earn both designations.
There is no discount for the second designation.

9. Can I use the designations on my business cards?

Yes, once you have achieved the professional designation you are entitled to place this accomplishment on your business card. You may use either the full name or the abbreviation. For example, the title "Diplomate in Business Administration" may be placed on your card, or simply, DBA.

10. Does my designation expire after some period of time?

No, the Diplomate designation is a life-time designation.

11. How are the various certificates earned?

Certificate programs are taught in a live classroom setting, and the certificates are earned through the completion of a prescribed learning program. Certificate programs are taught in 1-5 day courses, depending upon the selected program. Please contact the Institute at info@AIMD.us for more information.

12. How long does it take to receive my diploma and is there a delivery charge?

After all requirements are met and fees paid, diplomas are usually mailed within 48 hours. Please allow at least two weeks for domestic delivery. International delivery usually takes longer. There is no additional charge for delivery of your diploma.
